In Noayama‘s fourth music video, the media artist and musician explores a new, more classically minimalist aesthetic — one that contrasts his previous videos in appearance, but not in radicality.
In his new video for the collaborative track “Don’t Had To Know” with New York rapper Deem Spencer, he watches doubled pumpjacks and clouds drifting past, as if in time-lapse.
In the words of the artist: “First, a deceleration — an anti-stance to what’s happening in media right now. Hence one-take, hence this time-lapse aesthetic, even though it isn’t one. The clouds and the sky should be seen passing by. But then it clashes with a transcendental layer: the derricks doubled and tripled on top of each other, until everything culminates in what is actually the most surreal — watching this herd of pumpjacks, slow and sluggish like grazing cows, devouring the very foundation of our existence.”
Noayama – Don´t Had To Know ft. Deem Spencer is part of the „Caravanist´s Shattered Dreams EP“.
